An image shared on X claims to show an August 2024 post from acting Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Dr. Susan Monarez getting vaccinated.

Verdict: False

The image shows Mandy Cohen, the former director of the CDC.

Fact Check:

Social media users are claiming to show Monarez, who is the acting director of the CDC, getting vaccinated. One user wrote, “Meet Dr. Susan Monarez…The new nominee for CDC Director.”

This claim is false. The tweet is from October 2024 and shows Cohen, not Monarez. Monarez became acting CDC director on Jan. 15, 2025, according to a CDC press release.

Robert F. Kennedy addressed claims that Monarez was behind the posts.

“X posts that erroneously attribute Biden-era tweets supporting masks, lockdowns, vaccine mandates, etc. to my @CDCgov Director nominee, Susan Monarez, have understandably provoked agita within the MAHA movement. I handpicked Susan for this job because she is a longtime champion…” reads the tweet from Kennedy.
