A video shared on Facebook claims to show Greeks protesting against migrants.

Verdict: False

The video shows people commemorating the anniversary of a train crash, not protesting against illegal migrants.

Fact Check:

Social media users are claiming a video shows Greeks protesting against illegal migrants by calling for the resignation of the government.

“BREAKING NEWS Massive riot in Greece. Thousands of patriots are calling for the resignation of the globalist treacherous government. More than 500 illegal migrants arrive in Greece by boat every day,” one user wrote.

This claim is false. The video shows people remembering the anniversary of a 2023 train crash that killed dozens, according to AFP Fact Check. The rally took place on Feb. 28, 2025.

The video was shared by the Communist Youth of Greece. They did not claim that the video shows people protesting against the government for allowing migrants into the country. (RELATED: Claim That Trump Plans To Invalidate Biden’s Student Loan Forgiveness Program Is Satire)

The flood of people that has engulfed the center of Athens captures all the power of the voice of the people, the emotions that rage within us!
