A video shared on Facebook allegedly shows United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson talking about Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi working with him.

This video does not show the United Healthcare CEO, it shows another man who happens to share the name Brian Thompson.

Fact Check: 

Thompson was fatally shot on Dec. 4, to which podcaster Joe Rogan reacted to by saying Thompson wouldn’t get much sympathy due to the “dirty business” of the healthcare industry, according to The Independent. The alleged shooter, 26-year-old Luigi Magione, was charged with second-degree murder on Monday, the outlet reported.

A Facebook video claims to show Thompson mentioning how he allegedly worked with Pelosi. “We’ve had terrific connections, so we’ve had people like Nancy Pelosi, TJ Glauthier, former deputy secretary of the DOE working for us in terms of figuring out how to get a grant,” the man in the video says.

This video is miscaptioned, however, and actually shows a different man named Brian Thompson. It was originally posted to YouTube by Wharton School in March 2012 and its title reads, “Perspectives from an Entrepreneur with Brian Thompson.” (RELATED: No, UnitedHealthcare Has Not Posted Its CEO Job Listing)

The Thompson in the video has a LinkedIn page that shows he has a MBA in general management from Wharton School. His profile picture also matches the appearance of the man in the video. The LinkedIn page for the United Healthcare CEO shows that his profile picture does not resemble the other man. The two men have noticeably different eye and hair colors.
