There is no evidence for the claim.
Fact Check:
In a recent interview Trump made shared several of his plans for his first actions when in office, NBC News reported. These plans include conducting a massive deportation effort and pardons for Jan. 6 participants, according to the outlet.
A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, alleges that Del Rey announced that she will be performing at the upcoming inauguration. The post shared a video of Del Rey speaking at a Variety event.
In the video the singer says, “he’s a big reason why I waited so long to get married and why I met my amazing husband.”
The caption reads, “Lana Del Rey to sing ‘Hallelujah’ at the inauguration of Donald J Trump.”
The claim is inaccurate. The video does not show her announcing this performance. The video shows Del Rey speaking about music producer Jack Antonoff at Variety’s eighth-annual Hitmakers event, Antonoff is the “he” Del Rey refers to in the video, according to Variety.
The full speech contains no such announcement. Del Rey’s speech caused speculation that she and her husband, an alligator tour guide, are MAGA supporters, according to Newsweek. (RELATED: Did Jason Momoa Announce He Is Leaving The U.S. After Trump Win?)
Del Rey has commented on Trump’s previous administration calling it “madness,” The Independent reported. In an interview with Annie Mac, she said, “The madness of Trump… As bad as it was, it really needed to happen. We really needed a reflection of our world’s greatest problem, which is not climate change but sociopathy and narcissism.” These comments were then taken out of context by some, Del Rey clarified her comments were “liberal,” the outlet reported.
Del Rey did admit to asking fans to cast spells on Trump in 2017, allegedly to protect the U.S. from him, Vanity Fair reported.
