A video shared on X claims to show an Iranian F-14 flying into Turkish airspace despite being confronted by a Turkish F-4 Phantom.

Verdict: False

The video is from 2021 and likely shows virtually created aircraft, not an actual confrontation between Iranian and Turkish jets.

Fact Check:

Turkey called for renewed negotiations between the Syrian rebels and the current regime led by Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, according to The Associated Press. Syrian rebels are currently on the offensive, having taken swathes of northern Syria from the regime, including the cities of Aleppo and Hama, per the outlet.

Social media users are claiming to show an Iranian F-14 entering “Turkey’s military operation zone” before it was intercepted by a Turkish F-4.

“BREAKING: An Iranian F-14 reportedly entered Turkey’s military operational zone, only to be intercepted by a Turkish F-4 Phantom, forcing the Iranian jet to retreat – Azeri Times,” reads one user’s post.

This claim is false. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found that the video is from Nov. 2021 and was posted by an Instagram account that creates virtually created aircraft videos. (RELATED: Did British Prime Minister Keir Starmer Claim To Make Pork For His Jewish Wife?)

The Instagram account’s bio reads, “CG-Aircraft Animation…3D Print Aircraft Model…Virtual Reality Museum of Aircraft.”
