A post made on X claims that President-elect Donald Trump will nominate former HUD secretary Ben Carson as U.S. Surgeon General.

Carson has already announced that he will not be serving as the next U.S. Surgeon General. Trump has not announced his Surgeon General pick.

Social media users are claiming that Trump will nominate Carson to be the next U.S. Surgeon General. One user wrote, “🚨BREAKING: President Trump expected to pick Ben Carson as the nation’s top doctor, the U.S. Surgeon General.”

The claim is misleading. As of November 18th, Trump has not yet nominated an individual to be the next U.S. Surgeon General. Trump has announced his cabinet nomination decisions via Truth Social. Furthermore, Carson has announced via a post made on X that he will not be serving as the next U.S. Surgeon General.

“I am excited to speak with President Trump about how I will continue to advance the America First agenda, and I am meeting with him in the near future. However, contrary to reports, I will not be serving as the Surgeon General,” reads the tweet.

Fox News has also reported that Carson will not serve as the next U.S. Surgeon General, citing Carson’s comments.
