The claim appears to have originated as satire. An online story titled ‘Jack Smith Indicts The 221,683,092 Americans Who Believe Election Was Stolen’ is labeled as “Satire for the Right. And the Wrong.”

The satire reads, “Another 221,683,092 indictments came down Wednesday, this time on the 63% of Americans who believe the 2020 election was stolen” and, “In the lengthy press conference, Smith read aloud the names of all 221 million citizens, among them North Carolina Jiffy Lube technician Anthony Aarons.”

A recent filing from the Donald J. Trump v. United States case lists the former president as the only defendant in the case. Check Your Fact has reached out to the DOJ for comment.
