Verdict: Misleading
While the page did exist in April 2024, Vance’s website was merged into another belonging to former President Donald Trump.
Fact Check:
An Israeli firm to helped investigate the gunman behind Trump’s assassination attempt, getting into his phone in one day, Fox News reported. The firm does not have access to any of the evidence found and is not releasing much information on their involvement.
A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, allegedly deleted a statement on his website about ending abortion. The post shows a screenshot of a strong statement from Vance calling for an end to abortion.
The statement reads in part, “I am 100 percent pro-life, and believe that abortion has turned our society into a place where we see children as an inconvenience to be thrown away rather than a blessing to be nurtured. Eliminating abortion is first and foremost about protecting the unborn, but it’s also about making our society more pro-child and pro-family.”
The caption reads, “Weird that @JDVance just deleted this from his website.”
The claim lacks context. The statement was deleted along with several policy positions from his website. An archived version of Vance’s website does feature the “End Abortion” statement seen in the post.
The link jdvance.com now leads directly to a Trump’s presidential campaign website. This change appears to have taken place on July 15, after Vance was announced as Trump’s vice presidential pick. (RELATED: Harris Campaign Claims Video Shows JD Vance Endorsing Project 2025)
The website does share this statement on the issue of abortion. The statement reads in part, “After 51 years, because of us, that power has been given to the States and to a vote of the People. We will oppose Late Term Abortion, while supporting mothers and policies that advance Prenatal Care, access to Birth Control, and IVF (fertility treatments).”
