A post shared on social media purports that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is planning to drop out of the race for President soon and will endorse former President Donald Trump.

Verdict: False

The claim is inaccurate. Kennedy has denied these rumors.

Fact Check:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, marking their first meeting in about four years, The Associated Press reported. Netanyahu addressed Congress on Thursday and met with President Joe Biden, who he previously congratulated for winning the election, despite Trump’s questioning of the results.

A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, alleges that Kennedy will announce that he is suspending his campaign as a third party candidate for president.

The caption reads in part, “Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is reportedly considering dropping out of the 2024 presidential race and endorsing Donald Trump.”

The claim is inaccurate. He recently responded to the rumors saying on X, “I’m in it to win it. I lead in popularity and independents are now the largest voting bloc. Momentum is shifting in my favor as I close in on ballot access in all 50 states. I look forward to challenging President Trump and the DNC nominee at the next debate.”

Political commentator Ryan Fournier recently deleted his tweet claiming that Kennedy was backing out and posted a response to Kennedy saying, “I deleted my original post on RFK JR allegedly dropping out and endorsing Trump. Kennedy has responded with the following and I’m doing my due diligence in letting it be known.”

Kennedy attacked the Democrat party for shifting from Biden to Vice President Kamala Harris as the presidential nominee, claiming that are attempting to create “the illusion of a Democracy,” according to The Hill. (RELATED: Did Donald Trump Donate To Kamala Harris’ 2014 Attorney General Reelection Campaign?)

This is not the first time misinformation has been shared online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim the Liberty Bell was covered in graffiti during protests.
