A video shared on X claims to show a Palestinian girl with a neck injury.

Verdict: False

The girl in the video is Pakistani. She was suffering from a neck condition at the time.

Fact Check:

Ex-American government officials said that the United States was complicit in the killing of Palestinians in Gaza, according to the Times of Israel. The ex-officials also said that the U.S. was breaking the law by continuing to supply Israel with weapons, the outlet reported.

Social media users have been sharing a video of what appears to be an injured girl, claiming it shows a child of Gaza. One user wrote, “CHILDREN OF GAZA.”

This claim is false. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found that the video shows a Pakistani teenager named Afsheen Gul. The original video appears to have been posted to her Instagram page on June 15.

“I am proud of myself. I love every part of who I am. I am doing the best I can with what I have,” Gul writes in the caption.

Gul suffered from a neck condition that kept her neck at 90 degrees after a childhood accident, according to BBC News. Her neck condition was made easier by an Indian surgeon via surgery, the outlet reported.
