The Iranian president and foreign minister died in a helicopter crash, according to The Associated Press. Elections for his replacement are due to take place next month, the outlet reported.

Social media users are sharing a video of Israeli troops dancing, claiming it shows them celebrating the Iranian president’s death.

“Watch |Upon hearing reports of the Iranian president’s helicopter crash, Israeli occupation soldiers in Gaza uploaded footage of themselves celebrating and dancing,” reads one post.

This claim is false. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found that the video has been circulating since 2021, years before the helicopter crash. The video was posted to YouTube in December 2021.

“Interesting: the soldiers dance Yemenite,” reads the video title. The video description appears to note that it is connected to “‘Lairs’ group of Yemenite Jewry.”
