Boy Scouts of America has announced that it will be changing its name to “Scouting America” in 2025 in an attempt to promote inclusion, according to The Associated Press. The change is expected to take place on Feb. 8 2025, marking the organization’s 115th birthday, the outlet reported.

A Facebook image shows a picture of Musk next to an image of boy scouts saluting and holding small American flags. “Boy Scouts Lose $250 Million in Funding; Elon Musk Says They Went Woke,” the caption reads.

This claim is inaccurate, however. There are no matching search results on Musk’s X account of him calling the Boy Scouts “woke.” Likewise, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports about this occurring.

The article was posted to Esspots, where it is labeled as satire. “The quote falsely attributed to Mr. Musk is a satirical post circulating the internet and has no basis in fact,” a Boy Scouts of America spokesperson told Check Your Fact in an email.
