There is no evidence for this claim. It was published by an X account known for spreading misinformation.
Fact Check:
Iran launched over 300 drones and missiles against Israel on Saturday night, according to Axios. Iran said the attack was in retaliation for Israel’s April 1 airstrike that killed six of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the outlet reported.
An X post claims Putin has made a statement saying that Russia will support Iran in the case of the U.S. attacking Iran. The post shares an image of Putin and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi shaking hands.
“BREAKING: Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared that RUSSIA will SUPPORT IRAN if the United States attacks Iran’s soil in support of Israel,” the post reads.
The claim is baseless, however. There are no credible news reports about Putin making such a statement.

A Community Note on the post pointed out that there is no evidence for the claim, referencing an article from The Mirror saying that some suggest Putin might be glad to see conflict between Iran and Israel. Hinkle responded by saying, “Rate this community note ‘INCORRECT,'” but still provided no source to corroborate his claim.
President Joe Biden said the U.S. will not take part in a counter-offensive against Iran in support of Israel, according to Reuters. Only one serious injury from Iran’s attack was reported, but Israeli officials reported that Israel war cabinet members “favored retaliation,” according to the outlet.
