A video shared on X claims to show the Israeli Iron Dome in action against the April 13 Iranian missile attack.

Verdict: False

The video is from October 2023. It is not related to the current hostilities between Israel and Iran.

Fact Check:

Iran attacked Israel with over 300 missiles and drones, with Israel and other nations, such as the U.S., intercepting the vast majority of them, according to CNN.

Social media users are sharing a video of Iron Dome interceptors, claiming it shows the Iranian attack. One user wrote, “New Arab-Israeli War 2024.” Another user wrote, “ISRAEL – URGENT. Hundreds of missiles launched from Iran are being intercepted by Israel’s iron dome.”

This claim is false. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found that the video was posted to Instagram Oct. 11 and shows the Iron Dome in action against rockets fired from Gaza.

“Stunning record of many rockets fired by Hamas from Gaza towards the Israeli city of Ashkelon moments ago. The explosion in the sky are the interception of rockets by Israeli air defense ‘Iron Dome,'” the Instagram caption reads.
