A video shared on Facebook allegedly shows a clip from “The Simpsons” saying that states are taking “extreme measures” for the April 8 solar eclipse.

This video does not actually come from “The Simpsons,” but instead was created by an account that makes videos using artificial intelligence (AI).

Fact Check:

A woman fatally stabbed her husband and threw her two children in front of a moving vehicle on Monday, the same day as the recent solar eclipse, according to NBC News. She appeared to have been agitated by the eclipse, as she made a post a few days prior referring to it as “the epitome of spiritual warfare,” the outlet reported.

A Facebook video appears to show a news anchor character from “The Simpsons” speaking of “strange preparations” associated with the April 8 eclipse. He mentions schools being closed in parts of Texas, National Guard members and 150 first responders being deployed and the possibility of cell phone reception becoming unavailable.

This clip is not actually from “The Simpsons,” however. The video was originally shared on TikTok by the account Brokman_News. Its bio indicates that the account posts AI-generated content. It shows several other videos using the same animation of a news anchor character from “The Simpsons,” Kent Brockman.
