A video shared on TikTok claims the daughter of late herbalist Alfredo Bowman, also known as Dr. Sebi, is facing 155 years in prison for “revealing top secret health hacks.”

There are no credible news reports suggesting any of Bowman’s family has been arrested. The accompanying image appears to be created using artificial intelligence (AI).

A TikTok video claims one of Bowman’s daughters is facing prison time for sharing “health hacks.” The post shows an image of a girl in handcuffs and an orange prison jumpsuit. “Dr. Sebi’s daughter was SENTENCED to 155 years in prison for revealing TOP SECRET health hacks,” reads text overlaid on the image. “Save before it’s deleted…”

There is no evidence for the claim, however. There are no credible news reports to about a daughter of Bowman being arrested. 

Putting the image into Hive Moderation, an AI detection tool, shows that it is 99.8% likely to be AI-generated. Bowman was a controversial self-taught healer who claimed he could cure HIV/AIDS, sickle cell anemia, cancer, asthma and occasionally blindness, according to LA Times. He was charged for practicing medicine without a license in 1987, but won the case, the outlet reported.

The post does not specify the name of Bowman’s daughter in question, but a woman named Kellie Bowman identifies herself as his daughter on Instagram. Her bio also indicates that she is the founder of Sebi’s Daughters, LLC, which sells wellness products
